Today I was clicking on my usual yahoo info when a message from Microsoft popped up telling me to call 844-559-1625 because my computer was hacked. This message completely lockup my computer and I could not get rid of it or do anything else. I signed off and signed back on but it brought me to the same message. I called the number and this guy with a very heavy accent assured me he worked for microsoft and will help me get rid of the problem but I had to let him have access to my computer which I stupidly allowed. He was telling me I had all sorts of errors and switched me to a "senior" rep who wasted even more of my time telling me things I knew were not true; I noticed another phone number on my screen from them (877-767-2315). Then he said he wanted $299 to fix this problem and I told him I would have to think about because by then I figured they are the ones who gave it to me so I hung up. I immediately checked to make certain no one else was on my computer and deleted the program they put on and called centurylink for a new ip address. I also ran my avg and did a full system scan which showed no problems.

I am disappointed that these scams are still going on and wish Microsoft would hunt these hackers down since they are using their name; they also need to have them arrested. Now I hope they did not put anything else in my computer to hack me or cause problems. Is there anyway I can tell for certain because I know they can hide programs by calling them Microsoft, Google, etc. ?
