*Phone Link* APP HELP (App automatically adds a country code, which is incorrect, to all outgoing texts on IOS)

I Just downloaded the Phone Link App on my desktop to speak to my Iphone, when I text a contact from the app, it creates a new message chat on my Iphone under the same number with +1 in front of it. The numbers in my contacts dont require country codes and so this is messaging an invalid number rather than the contact itself. How do I change this default setting?Thank you
