Performance problems with Windows Pro 11 24H2

Since installing Windows Pro 11 24H2, the performance on my Alienware Aurora R11 has degraded significantly. I have also had other buggy behaviors which existed before 24H2. The machine has an i9-10900, 10 cores (20 logical processors), and 64 GB memory. One would think that with a high-performance computer, an operating system should not throttle it with a bloated set of services.On boot, the lock screen takes a while to display the PIN edit control (which is what I use to login).
