I have users complained slowness when switching folders. I saw many folders with more than 35,000 items. We have mixed Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2016. I recall that MS has a KB related to Outlook performance and number of items in it. I think it said that user will experience slowness when a folder having more than 2,000 items in online mode. But I can't find it anymore. I only found this link which is for Outlook in Cache mode.

Since we are not using cache mode, at least for now what is the MS limit, for Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2016?
Thanks in advance.
