PDF Icon in File explorer gone

My PDF icon in file explorer suddenly just shows a white blank page instead of the previous default PDF icon. I've tried show preview handlers and always show icon, never thumbnails options in the view tab but it does not work. It does not affect my ability to open the PDF, but it makes my organization harder and makes it more confusing as I have other applications that do not have an icon. Icons for other applications still seem to exist. See image below for example.
