Hello,
We have moved our file server from SBS2011 to Windows Server 2019, and in every case it works fine, but when attempting to open large PDF files ( larger than 15-20 MBs with Adobe, Foxit reader, or Internet explorer), it freezes whichever application opens it. The PDF file WILL open after 10-15 minutes, but while its loading if you try to interact with the application at all it will freeze and crash.
This happens with Windows 7 workstations specifically, but any windows 10 workstations work fine. Using these same windows 7 workstations connecting to the old server and opening copies of the same file, they open quickly and perform fine. Both the old and new servers are VMs on the same host, using the same disks and network adapters.
I've disabled all firewalls and AV on both hosts and workstations trying to identify the block, but so far haven't been able to resolve the issue.
Thanks,
~Riley
