pc wont turn on display so i have to turn it off and on again

hello, i have a inconvenient problem with my PC. when I power it on, all the lights inside turn on, my mouse and keyboard too, but the display doesn't show on the monitor. when I turn it off with the power button and on, it works perfectly fine. this happens everytime since like a week and not only is it annoying, but I think it harms my PC. please help!
