PC lags when disconnecting from ethernet/Wi-Fi

This has only started happening when I updated my pc to Windows 11. When the ethernet is connected my computer runs fairly smoothly, but then it occasionally disconnects and results on my computer freezing and lagging to the point where it's unusable. Sometimes it'll reconnect on its own, sometimes it won't. I've updated my drivers and checked my ethernet cable. I also did a factory reset so the storage is fine.
