PC crashing under any load

My computer is freezing crashing when put under seemingly any continuous load, I think it is specifically any gpu load but I'm not sure. I've tried reinstalling windows, reapplying thermal paste, replaced ram (the ram I had seemed pretty poorly made anyway), and adjusting fan controls to be higher more often, but the crash persists. Certain games can cause the crash anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour, but running a stress test with AIDA64 typically takes 3-4 hours fairly consistently over 4 attempts. The behavior varies, sometimes audio continues for a while, sometimes audio cuts out first. s
