Hi, I have an old pc and software that has been installed on it since it was new. I run Windows XP (yes I know, but I'm poor and can't afford an upgrade.) Anyhow, yesterday my computer shut down and wouldn't restart, displaying the message missing file (or something like that) c:\windows\system32\config\system. I have the original XP installation disc and started recovery mode from it. Then by following a youtube video posted by an MS engineer I mangaged to get the pc up and running again, deleting and recreating files as instructed. Top video!

While I can still see my original files , documents, photos etc previously installed programs seem to have disappeared. one of the missing programs is my Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 which I have had since 2007. The short cuts are still there but when I click on these I get the message "This action is only valid for programs that are currently installed" I still have the original installation disc including the product key and have tried reinstalling from it. I keep getting a message saying that it has encountered a problem. i.e. it won't reinstall.

Can anyone help please?
