partitions to merge

Hi,I had to replace the old 256gb ssd with the new 1tb. Because of this difference in space, I now have a 256gb partition and a new one, which I created, of 693gb. Between the two partitions there is an additional partition, therefore using Windows Disk Management it is not possible to continue. I read that there are risks, if I decide to try to move the partition in the middle anyway, and then merge the other two. Do you confirm? What are the pros and cons of keeping the partitions separate or merging the two into one? Thank you very much
