Paint Shop Pro X2 not opening image with mouse double left click

I've installed the last version of PaintShop Pro that I have a license to which is X2 (had to actually purchase a DVD external unit since my version is on disk and my newest laptop has no CD/DVD)Anyway, the program runs perfectly and the only thing not working is when I double click a image file in file explorer or from my desktop etc., doesn't matter if it's jpg, gif, psp etc. Paintshop pro X2 opens itself up perfectly fine but the image fails to open with it. If I select open file from within X2 it opens the files fine but refuses to open the files by double clicking the files. The files
