Owner Lost Access to GroupMe Chat

I am the Owner of a GroupMe chat and when I access my group to add a member and it would not process after several tries. Then the app prompted me for my username and password. I've never had to do this since installing the app on my telephone and Macbook. I then tried to access my group on my Mac and received the same prompt for my username and password. I went through those steps and it appears I now have a new account and can't access my private group. Please help.
