Hi,
I have the strange behavior, that the contact type seems to change after editing/update the contact in the Outlook desktop app (also the symbol changes from a "blue" to "red" person - shown in the list view). This affects the sync with my Outlook.com online account and mobile phones as this will not work after anymore. When I create a new contact in the Outlook desktop app everything is normal after (also sync). When I create a new contact in Outlook.com or on my mobile phone everything is normal.
Please note, that the sync is working fine until I edit (and save) a contact in my Outlook desktop app. When I create a new contact in my Outlook desktop app (or mobile device), everything is fine ("blue" icon), even after I edit this new created contact again.
I do not think, that this has something to do with my mobile phone sync. This is only a negative side effect. The root cause seems to be in the Outlook desktop app.
I could not find a proper answer regarding the meaning of the different icons (even though this question was raised before). Even when I compared all fields of a "normal" contact with the "blue" icon and the one with the "red" icon, I could not find any differences.
Even after setting up the Outlook desktop app from scratch on a new PC I get the same effect.
Actual Outlook Version: MS Outlook for Microsoft 365 MSO (16.0.12827.20236) 64-bit
Email Account: Microsoft Exchange
OS: Windows 10
Phone: iPhone using build in contacts app
