I am using the method “Attachments.Add(Source, Type, Position, DisplayName)” to add the attachments to a custom email message, and I use the “DisplayName” parameter to save some information about the file (that I don’t what visible for the user).

In the definition of the “DisplayName” parameter says that:

“This parameter applies only if the mail item is in Rich Text format and Type is set to olByValue : the name is displayed in an Inspector object for the attachment or when viewing the properties of the attachment. If the mail item is in Plain Text or HTML format, then the attachment is displayed using the file name in the Source parameter.”

Attachments.Add method (Outlook)

In Outlook 2013 the mail is displayed as supposed, and if the mail is in Plain Text or HTML format, the attachment is displayed using the file name in the Source parameter.

But in Outlook 2019, when the mail is in HTML format the attachment is displayed using the DisplayName parameter. Why?

Thanks & Regards,

Rui Oliveira
