Outdated security update will not let me update to the latest version of windows

Hello, I am currently running Windows 10 on my PC, specifically version 1709. I have been trying for two days now to get my windows up to date but my system is stuck on a failed security update from 2019 and everything I have tried to get this update to install has not worked. Is there anything I can do to force the computer to do this update or if not then is there anything else that I can try?
