I wanted to get feedback on Microsoft best practices: Our desired goal is to have an .ost file less than 10 GB in size. I have adjusted the local cache to 3 months, however, the staff have shared mailboxes that open in addition to the staff member mailbox, and these mailboxes are increasing the size above 10 GB.
I've referenced the following link, Cache only Calendar and Contacts of a Shared Mailbox but not Emails - MSOutlook.info, that notes how to have Outlook NOT cache the shared mailboxes as it was in Outlook 2007.
I am wondering how this fits with Microsoft best practices, and what Microsoft recommends when it comes to .ost files and shared mailboxes.
