OK so I have looked everywhere online for a solution to this problem and nothing has worked.
So my problem is that only certain programs can connect to the internet. Firefox works flawlesly but IE can only connect to microsoft pages or I get the message
This page can’t be displayed
And the same issue on Google Chrome but no pages will load at all.
The Steam market works fine but if I try to go to certain pages of the client like my inventory i get
Error Code -2 (unknown error)
Orgin tells me I need an internet connection to install it when I have full bars and a web page open.
I have went to steam support and Tom's Hardware with this question and I haven't gotten anything helpful. I will tell what I have already tried.
I have
* Ran several anti virus scans
* disabled my antivirus
* Uninstalled my anti virus
* uninstalled my anti malware
* turned off Windows Firewall
* Ran programs in administrator mode
* reset DNS settings
* Flushed dns
* Uninstalled half my programs
* re installed all the programs that are giving me errors
* re installed my d-link wireless adapter drivers
* reinstalled my bios lan settings
* used an entirely different wireless adapter
* Disabled anything that is proxy related
* reset my ipv6 and ipv4 settings
* tried just ipv4
* tried just ipv6
* Disabled all background programs and services
* booted into safe mode with networking and still got the errors
* some other misc things that didn't work
Please does anyone know what is happening, no one else on my wireless network has had any issues. My isp is 295.ca

- Make sure the web address https://www.google.ca is correct.
- Look for the page with your search engine.
- Refresh the page in a few minutes.
- Check that all network cables are plugged in.
- Verify that airplane mode is turned off.
- Make sure your wireless switch is turned on.
- See if you can connect to mobile broadband.
- Restart your router.
