Only "New" Outlook is offered as the default app to open links to e-mail addresses in documents and websites

I have a new laptop (HP Envy) with Windows 11. I just tried to set the default app for emails when I click on a link in a document or website. The current default option is New Outlook. The only other options offered are the browsers on my computer. Gmail is not offered, or Yahoo, or Proton - all email apps I use. Am I missing something? I do not want to use Outlook as my default. The path I followed is APPS>Default apps>MAILTO. Thanks.
