One of my partitions got deleted. Now I can't allocate the space?

I'm assuming it happened during an update or something, and I don't really care about recovering the data. When I go to the partition manager or to a third party application, I am unable to re-allocate the "unallocated" space (it appears as unallocated.) I'd like to fix this glitched storage. One of the apps I tried mentioned it being Dynamic and not Basic.
