One Gmail Account in Microsoft Mail not Working

I have been using Microsoft Mail for years. I recently (a couple of months ago) had trouble with my wife's email account in my Gmail. It would not accept the password ("We couldn't access this account. Gmail.") and keeps telling me it is out of date. I did something from the Community Forum and solved the problem. Now, it is back and I have no idea how to make it right, again (I deleted the account and lost everything, even after doing that it would not accept the password).
