Office 365 Word, Excel, Powerpoint stopped launching.

Windows 11 Microsoft Office 365 Home bought online. Clicking Word, Excel or Powerpoint and they fail to launch. I turned off Mcafee antivirus for 15 minutes, rebooted, to no effect. Windows Update tries but this is the constant error message "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. this may help: (0x800705b4)". I followed the error code but this seems a circular set of instructions. I suspect it will be something simple can some tell me how to fix this? I'm a user not a coder so an idiots guide would be appreciated.
