I purchased a new laptop and need to transfer Office Prof. 2007 to it from

old computer. How do i transfer the license to the new laptop?

I should have stated that I already used the three installs. i need to

uninstall off one of the laptops and put on another.

It makes no difference whether or not you have used the three installs.

The fact of the matter is you can install the software as many times as

you want and on as many machines as you want. There is a false belief

(propagated by Susie Ramsden c0ck S u c ker) that you need to uninstall

the software before reinstalling. This is completely wrong because

there is no facility to notify M$ that the software has been uninstalled

from the previous system Also, Microsoft's databases are wiped clean

every 120 days to accommodate millions of software being installed and

uninstalled all the time and so there is no record of how many times a

software has been installed in the last 120 days..

Please go ahead and install on your new machine and you can activate it

online. If it fails, you will be given a toll free phone number on the

screen to contact the Microsoft in your country and to explain the

situation so that they can activate it for you.

Please let me know if I can be of further help.

Go ahead and install it. Worst case, you may have to activate it by phone

instead of over the internet.

To stay within the terms of your three-user license, you shouldn't have it

installed on more than 3 pcs *at any one time* so you should remove it from

the computer that your new laptop replaces.

I wouldn't do that until it's installed and tested on the new computer

though.
