nvlddmkm error and artifacting/crashing

About a two weeks ago my monitor started artifacting randomly and and sometimes restarted after some time from the moment the artifacting happened (never got BSOD), sometimes during GPU stress, sometimes being idle. I checked event viewer and found out errors id 14 and id 153 both named nvlddmkm. I sent my PC to diagnostics and they couldn't even get the pc to artifact or crash. After some digging I found out possible causes for these errors.
