No sound or microphone after MS Update

My Acer Laptop Win11 had a Microsoft/Windows Update recently, the internal speakers no longer work, no sound car visible in device manager and now and the Phonak hearing aids I often use has no active microphone now. My USB web cam also has a microphone and it is not working. Any ideas?
