I recently bought a new dummy Laptop, a HP Pavilion ZV6000 to be precise, and wanted to use it. It had Windows XP pre-installed, but I knew Windows XP was too old for proper use, so I upgraded to a 64-Bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate. The laptop was certainly designed for Windows XP, as it only had 2GB of RAM, but I saw absolutely no hardware restrictions or compatibility issues, so I upgraded it.
