Hi;
I just recently re-installed Windows XP Home on my HP laptop with 2Gb MEM,
Internet Explorer 7, and I upgraded that to Windows XP Professional. My
updates were working the entire time after I completed installing Home, then
when I installed Pro, I can no longer get updates, either PRIORITY or CUSTOM.
When I do, the specs on the ready to install page say: 79 updates, 0Kbs, 0
Min (Download; ready to install) Estimated time at your connection speed; 0
Mins, (Download size(total) 0Kb)
Then I get: Some units were not Installed, The following updates were not
installed-all 79.
Finally, i getroblem: A problem on your computer is preventing updates
from being downloaded or installed
Solution: To fix the problem, try installing the updates
again. If that doesn't work, use the Troubleshooter to try solve the problem.
I did those things with no results. Sounds like there might be a parameter,
possibly in the resgistry, that might be set wrong or not at all. Please
help. Thanks.
