There is no IE8 in my Windows version. No icon in the taskbar. I have tried

Start/Search Programs. Nothing.

Microsoft.com won't let me download the Windows 7 version -- because

"Windows 7 comes with IE8, so no download is necessary".

Can anyone tell me where to download it?

Thank you!!

Karsten

Hi,

Search for Internet Explorer not IE8.

Regards.

I uninstalled mine because it would not open and now as Kasi states, I can't

find anywhere to install it from.

That only disabled access to IE8.

Hi,

As Robear has stated.

So to turn IE8 back on (I have not done this myself for fear of losing IE8)

Start>Control Panel Items>Programs and Features

Click "Turn Windows features on or off"

check "Internet Explorer 8" from the list...

(mmm that's going to make life difficult for v9 when/if it comes along)

Unfortunately a web search does not return any results for instructions for

turning it back on...

Post back if that does not turn it back on.

Regards.

I've put it back by doing the reverse of before. If I click Start, Internet

Explorer, the hour glass comes on for a few seconds and then vanishes. IE

will not open. What about if I just re-insert the disk for IE7 that I got

from my Computer Manufacturer.

If you'd bothered to read the dialog box that does NOT uninstall IE. All it

does is REMOVE ACCESS - i.e. removes all the menu items and icons.

You hijacked someone else's thread. Please state your full Windows version

(e.g., WinXP SP3; WinXP 64-bit SP2; Vista SP1; Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7; Win7

64-bit) for further assistance.
