This has been driving me nuts! For ages I have been trying to download and
install the "priority" updates. Every time I try, they fail. I review my
updates, and there are no failures there, so I can't even check the error
codes as there are none reported.
I used the Baseline Security Analyzer 2.0.1 to manually download and install
the .NET 1.1 and 2.0 updates and some other "critical" windows updates, but
the other stuff (14 updates) just WILL NOT HAPPEN using the standard methods,
and some not so standard methods.
I can find no reasons for these failures.
One thing does strike me though. Even after selecting ALL available updates,
the download page says that the total size of the updates is 0kb. Obviously
this is impossible.
I have made note in other posts that this problem exists, and is obviously a
Microsoft problem, but nothing seems to have been done about this.
I have also noted the huge amount of complaints scattered about the forums
concerning this problem, and still Microsoft does nothing.
I would dearly love to know when the techs that get paid huge salaries by
the richest man in the world are going to get out of the playroom and do some
work resolving this issue.
Now would be nice!
