Night light is no longer selectable/toggleable

today out of the blue my pc's night light stopped working, it no longer turns on. i checked for windows updates and updated my intel display driver but it's still not working. please help!im not sure if it should come under Display and graphics topic but i selected it as no other seems more fitting.
