I've had this brand new Dell G5 15, Windows 10, for about a week. Put on all available updates. A few days ago, I created a restore point. Today, I had it restore there. It has been 3 hours and it still says "restoring the registry". I maybe added 3 programs which changed the registry, if that.
Seems to me I've had problems with Windows restores many years ago and it just occurred to me I shouldn't have done this. I just did a long web search that shows I'm not alone. Apparently this very critical feature is faulty right out of the box.
Is there any way out of this mess without having to use my recovery drive? Will the recovery drive work or is that anither critical feature which fails if you look at it sideways?
