New laptop, how do I add it to my home network of devices? (my workgroup, printer, other devices) Not internet... it already works

Newly purchased laptop. Already have it joined the wireless network and have great internet connection. What I need to know is how to make it see my local workgroup. I have 3 other computers and 2 printers that I am trying to connect to. I am using norton 360 but I have temporarily turned off all the firewalls to no avail. From my laptop, I can ping my computers (using the dos cmd) but my computers will not ping the laptop. They just timeout.
