Networking two laptops. Windows Credentials not being recognizedÉ

Just got a new Laptop and I want to be able to network it with my old laptop to access files etc. Both computers show up under the network in explorer, but when I try and click on it they ask to "Enter network credentials". This happens on both computers. I have entered what I believe is my login on both computers separately, but it keeps saying my credentials are wrong. I have even used the "manage your credentials" tool to change the passwords but it still does not work. Not sure what I am doing wrong here.Thanks,Jon
