I have 2 windows 10 PCs - one is a Brix connected to the internet via a Fios router by ethernet. It has a USB printer attached to it. The other is a HP connected to the router over WiFi. Both are on a private network. Both can access the internet.
I am trying to get the HP to see the Brix over the network (and the Brix's USB-attached LaserJet printer), but I cannot see the Brix using Explorer->network from the HP. This used to work till recently but it has stopped working. I can still see the HP from the Brix, and I can move files in a shared folder on the HP to the Brix. I checked all of the services (uPNP etc.) that vaious forums have listed, and set them to auto-start on both machines.
The only strange thing I see is on the HP machine. Settings->Network and Internet->Network and Sharing Center->Change Advanced Sharing Setting -> Private (Current Profile) -> it is set to Turn Off Network discovery. I tried to change it to Turn On Network discovery but that does not "stick". Maybe this is the problem?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
