NET framework

I see that i am not the only person having problems with this security
download. I have used the windows installer cleanup utility to uninstall the
framework 1.1. I then went to the microsoft site and reinstalled net
framework 1.1. It installed. Then i tried to install service pack 1. I
keep getting the message that the patch package could not be opened. Can
someone please tell me exactly what this net framework does? If I need it
can someone please tell me how to get the service pacl 1 to open and install.

I had the same problem with updat KB928366. Go to posted subject
..NetFramework 1.1 - Resolution.... then expand it and go to the post of
Gistcheckin and do what it says, it has all the sites to download and it
worked to perfection for me. The update took and not a problem since with it
reappearing. Hope this helps.
