My surface pro 4 has a DP to HDMI cord but my computer doesn't detect the monitor I am using and it gives me a resolution not supported.

So I had this problem since I was still trying to make things work for me. When I got this cord from my dad we set the monitor I had up and everything was perfect. While was setting up my cord though I had and when I set it up I bumped into it and boom came down the resolution. When I checked what my computer said was my second display it was saying DP2 HDMI 20001 not my LG widescreen. I really need tips on how to fix it or else I am going to be playing in pixels to pixels while on my wide screen. I have tried the device manager changing the drives but it made my screen worse.
