My screen flickers on and off when restarting from deep sleep (all lights off) while on battery and plugged in

This is a copy of a post made in November by another member, I have the same problem exactly and I wondered if anyone had a solution? The flickering seems to be mouse related...when I move the mouse, the screen goes to black and stays black until I find a good spot with the mouse. The only solution to fix this problem that I have been able to find is to power down and power back up. Then usually everything works fine. The only variation to these conditions were when I exhausted the battery, and, after plugging in and repowering, the condition persisted while I rebooted a few times. I have

Battery icon stuck at 39%, even plugged in for hours and while unplugged for hours. But you can see when is plugged in and unplugged. Any ideas?
