My saved documents recently were all changed to File Viewer type and I cannot open them now. I did not buy File Viewer.

Recently all of my saved documents were "magically" changed to File Viewer type without my doing it. I did not purchase File Viewer although an ad for itpartially covered every document I tried to open. When I deleted the ad, there was only the titles of my documents in a differently formatted listing with the one selected that I was trying to open. However, it did not open!I have an HP Laptop with Windows 10 operating system.
