my microsoft store says it needs to update but won't update

my pc says it needs to activate windows, but it won't accept my product key. the only other way is to go to the microsoft store. the problem is that it says it needs to update but it just won't do anything, it stays at 0%.it also says i'm not running a genuine version of windows even though i just downloaded windows 10 a week ago.
