My mic picks up my headphone audio

Hello, I bought not too long ago a new pc and after I got it and plugged my mic and headphones in (headphones dont go around my ear btw) my friends on discord and even in game channels such as fortnite say that they hear my headphone audio. For example in discord when I was in a call yesterday and I wanted to watch a video, my friend told my that he could hear the video almost perfectly and I dont know how to fix it. please help!
