My local disk (F:) has transformed into a CD drive that I cant read anymore? what do i do

My disk partition local disk (F has transformed into a CD drive that i cant access anymore. All my data in that drive too is now inaccessible. When i try to open it, the system prompts me to insert something in the CD drive but my pc doesn't even have a CD drive. I don't understand how this happened. Please help
