my laptop started making sounds suddenly during my zoom meeting also the cursor was not working at the time...after powering it off then on it started

I was on zoom meeting and my laptop suddenly making high pitch sounds and arrow was not working at that time i powered it off and then powered it on and it starts working, can u explain me what happened to my laptop
