My laptop says I’m connected to Internet, but whenever I click on Microsoft edge and look up something it says Internet not connected

I clicked on a Book PDF and I got a false virus alert Win32Hoax.RenosHX, I fallowed the directions after looking them up and installed Hitmanpro and Adwcleaner and restored to factory settings. Now my laptop shows I’m connected to Internet, but whenever I click on Microsoft edge it pops up fine but when I go to search something it says I’m not connected to the internet. When I click on the net work diagnostics it says it can’t detect the proxy settings and when I go into the settings and click on network and internet and then click on proxy it just automatically exits out of settings. What do
