My Laptop is slowing down and I don't know why

I have had this laptop for a little while, only getting it during the tail end of August right in time for college to start up again. I spent a pretty penny on it just so I could play video games and take it to classes with me and all was well, no slowdown and I could even play videos in the background while playing games! Recently my college has had around 2 weeks of asynchronous class followed by another week of holiday vacation so I stored it under the bed in my dorm and left.
