My laptop continually crashes every time I leave my dorm

I have a laptop that is less than three years old, and two months ago it started getting a BSOD every time I left my dorm with varying times in between crashes, recently getting to the point where it's crashing every half hour when it is outside my dorm. I've spoken with multiple tech people and done everything from updating drivers to reinstalling Windows to hard resetting my laptop (the option that allows you to keep your files), but it continues to crash with a bad_pool_caller_error. I have a VPN that's automatically turned on as my college has poor Wifi, but even turning it off didn't help
