My laptop battery isn't charging, Could anyone help me with this issue?

My laptop battery isn't charging. Even after plugging it in for six hours plus, the battery percentage remains the same and the laptop shuts down immediately when unplugged. The battery isn't gaining any charge despite being connected to the charger.
