my HP laptop is destroyed thanks to "critical update" that installed BITLOCKER.

A "critical update" installed BITLOCKER, (NEVER HAD IT BEFORE). now the laptop is unusable. I have tried all of the generic "fixes", but now, i guess it goes to a repair shop or the junk pile.
