My Ethernet Won't Connect on my Windows 11 Computer

Just bought an ethernet cable so I could hopefully play PoE2 better as I've heard that ethernet can make a big difference in that game. This isn't urgent or anything, but now that I've been troubleshooting it for a few hours I'm more curious than anything as to what's happening. I've tried pretty much every common sequence of troubleshooting that I could find on the internet; resetting my IP in command prompt, updating/downgrading versions of windows, plugging everything out and then back in, downloading drivers, and I don't know where to go from here since I really am not a tech person.
