My epson Artisan 830 won't scan pictures to the computer. Keeps saying unable to communicate.

Try to scan pictures to my laptop with Windows 10. keeps saying unable to communicate, make sure computer is turned on. I have to scan them to a memory card. bad. It used to work. also it is turned on.

printer works when I send print to the printer from a email or website. but printer to computer won't connect.
