My email was hacked and I lost control. It has now been restored. Someone though has taken my email name and added it to a hotmail account

My email was hacked and I lost control, could neither send or receive. The hackers then tried to deceive some on my contact list to give them Amazon vouchers. Virgin have now restored the email to me, but someone has taken my email name and is using it with a hotmail account. How can I stop this?
